History

The history faculty is focused on providing all students with meaningful experiences to foster a positive and engaging learning environment. Such educational experience develops in them a passion for their learning in any one or more of the wide variety of subjects offered.  The teaching and learning activities take into account the skills and concepts necessary for students to work and live in the 21st century.

Faculty Structure:

Students follow a range of mandatory subjects in Years 7-10.  This means all students in Years 7 - 10 have one semester (approx. 20 weeks of 2 sessions per week) of Mandatory History.

For more information about the Stage 4 Mandatory History course, including the topics studied, please visit the sub-page:

In Years 9 and 10 students also have the opportunity to study one or more of the following elective courses:

  • Elective History: An excellent opportunity for students to become involved in a range of historical studies from eras not covered in the ROSA mandatory courses.

  • International Studies: An invitation-only Gifted and Talented course, which is underpinned by anthropological and sociological inquiry. Students in this course have the potential to be accelerated into Preliminary Society and Culture in Year 10 and in turn complete the HSC Society and Culture course in Year 11.
