Multicultural Week
Celebrating our culture and learning about the cultures of others takes pride of place in our annual Multicultural Week. A celebration of the rich cultural diversity within our school, students dress in cultural costume and provide cultural musical and dancing performances for the school community. By sharing and embracing our cultural heritage we develop respect and understanding for our diversity, while reflecting on the strength of multicultural society and the importance of developing our understanding of others.
Science Fair
Innovation and scientific discoveries abound in the annual Science Fair, a celebration of Year 10 independent research projects. Displaying their knowledge of scientific principles and processes, students present their solutions and findings in a broad range of presentations. Allumi, who have gone on to study in scientific fields, join teachers and junior students in judging the best in show. Student collaboration, creative and critical thinking is reflected in their outstanding works.
Powerhouse Climate Summit
Our Stage 5 Integrated Curriculum students participated in an innovative project titled 50°C: Climate, Heat and Resilience, in partnership with the Powerhouse Museum. This interdisciplinary project explored the pressing issues of heatwaves and extreme urban heat in Greater Sydney, while also developing our students' skills in fieldwork, data science, communication, and community leadership. Throughout the program, our students connected with PhD and Masters students conducting research in relevant fields, including design, architecture, engineering, urban planning, multispecies justice, energy, plant physiology, and climate justice. Stage 5 students presented their findings at Western Sydney University and selected groups were chosen to present to the Department of Education's Infrastructure Team.
